Agenda

Mediation & SoundBath

Mada Davis

Incorporate mindfulness and meditation practices into the healing process to help individuals cultivate self-awareness, acceptance, and resilience. Mindfulness techniques can facilitate the acknowledgment and acceptance of difficult emotions associated with trauma.

Emotion Based Painting & Emotion Based Movement

Kosar & Hanieh

Provide participants with a blank canvas or paper and a selection of paint colors. Ask them to choose colors that reflect their current emotions and use them to create abstract paintings. Encourage experimentation with different brush strokes, textures, and techniques to express their feelings visually.

Journalling

Encourage the individual to write about their experiences, emotions, and thoughts related to the trauma. This can be in the form of journaling, poetry, or storytelling. Writing allows for introspection, catharsis, and gaining insights into one's feelings and experiences.

Collaborative Painting & Body Mapping

Hanieh

Begin the workshop with a guided body mapping exercise. Participants will use large sheets of paper and various colors of paint to trace the outline of their bodies. Encourage them to fill in the outlines with images, symbols, or words representing their emotions, experiences, and sensations. Divide participants into small groups and provide each group with a large canvas or mural-sized paper. Encourage them to work together to create a collaborative painting, with each person contributing their unique perspective and artistic style. This fosters a sense of connection and teamwork among participants. Divide participants into small groups and provide each group with a large canvas or mural-sized paper. Freeform Movement

Kosar

Lead participants through a series of guided movement exercises accompanied by music. Encourage them to move freely and expressively, allowing their bodies to respond naturally to the music. This can help participants connect with their emotions and release tension.

Expressive Dance and Painting

Kosar & Hanieh

Combine movement and painting by having participants dance freely to music while simultaneously painting on large sheets of paper or canvas. Encourage them to let their movements influence their painting and vice versa, creating a fluid and interconnected expression of emotion.

Affirmation & Breathwork

Kosar

Integrate expressive movement and breathwork exercises that encourage participants to connect with their inner voice and express themselves authentically. Invite them to explore spontaneous movement, vocalization, and breathwork techniques such as Lion's Breath (Simhasana) to release tension and unlock creative energy.

Reflective Sharing Circle & Celebration of Healing

Kosar & Hanieh & Mada

Conclude the workshop with a reflective sharing circle where participants have the opportunity to discuss their experiences and artwork in a supportive environment. Encourage them to share insights, challenges, and moments of inspiration from the workshop.
